Rock & Roll Suicide
Sex Drugs & Rock & Roll

The amount of money spent on the war against drugs is insurmountable! Has it made a difference yes, but not in regards to drug trafficking, drug use or addiction. The primary benefit has been to corrupt government and policing agencies worldwide.

If there is a place in our day to day life for cigarettes, get up and go drinks, alcohol etc. there should be a place for drugs. There is good, bad and ugly in all things and we all have vises, no one including our government should have the right to tell us what those vises can or cannot be. Just look at the financial cost of alcohol and tobacco related illness and deaths; in 2005 a government study reported that there were at least 75,000 alcohol related deaths in the US alone. I don't ever recall reading a story of vehicular manslaughter as a result of being under the sole influence of marijuana.

Times, values and laws are always changing, some laws and changes are obviously necessary for the betterment of all of our lives. For instance, at one time it was legal to rape your wife and having sex with a minor child was considered mentoring. Changing the laws in place at that time to protect women and children goes without being said, imperative. But there are those laws that really only serve governments, greed and financial gains for those people in power whom are already enjoying an overabundance of wealth and riches at the sacrifice of those less fortunate. These laws have only one purpose, control and they are specifically enacted and set into place for that reason. Governments profit from making you believe that there is a crucial need for them to manage specific human behaviors and repetitive criminal activities. But in all truth it is those same governments and laws that maintain the platform that allows those activities to thrive, such as the sex and drug trades worldwide. People in power/governments have been brainwashing people since the beginning of time to maintain a hierarchy in support of the upper classes. They use a special blend of fear, ignorance and the race factor and then they simply herd society from one pasture to another enabling them to generate the mentality of the need for that specific policy and law. The bigger picture is this, if drugs and prostitution were legal and someone working in those trades stepped outside of the limits of those laws and they got caught the government would not be able to impose unlimited fines and seize any and all properties from that person or persons. Let’s face it people at least half the police jobs could be eliminated and whole federal agencies would have to be shut down, we would save billions of dollars for this country.

This is an explosive issue and I myself don't pretend to have the answers or the balance to propose the solution. I know from my own drug history that it was the addictive factor of the drugs that I used that made it turn bad but I still had some of the best times of my life. I wonder how the addictive aspect of using drugs would be affected in a person if drugs were readily available, pure and they could be used without legal ramifications. Another thing, why is it legal to shop till you drop into financial ruin and bankruptcy but drugs are illegal? Why? Because the government needs you to be broke to keep that, 9 to 5 breakdown the human spirit mentality in place to easier control you. Don't read into me because I don't care what you do with your money except of course when it causes harm to something or someone especially children. I am just so fed up with all these governmental controls that are now in place because people have become complacent, comatose and actually enjoy being spoon fed bullshit by their governments. How exactly does one acquire a taste for bullshit? As far as Rock & Roll without drugs goes just know this, we would not have had great artists like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin or Billie Holiday. Music, drugs, sex, and alcohol are the pain cocktail that lends to great tragedies but also some of the most extraordinary, brilliant art this world has ever known.

The next time that you put a vinyl record, cassette or disc in your player, please think, think about the following facts. These four artists among many others played key roles in carving the roadway that allowed all that is great and wonderful about music to unfold. When I say, 'music' I refer to the art of music, not the business of music. Their genius and unwillingness to compromise their art for career blasted the airwaves with heart, soul and brilliance rarely experienced today. I also believe that if someone did the math about the amount of days that anyone of these artists were sober as opposed to high… the final equation would reveal that there were more days of their lives when they were under the influence of mind altering drugs than days when they were not. Meaning this, you can forget about the music that you love that you associate with as playing a vital part in your memories of that extraordinary life changing day that made all the difference in your life. Besides the fact that whole eras like the roaring 1920's to the 1960's, just to mention a few would not have been what they were without drugs. Oh and yes I know that they are dead and except Freddie Mercury they died of drug related causes, unfortunate and sad. Not everyone that uses drugs dies a direct result of drug use... next.
